1. Academic Qualifications

Secondary School Diploma: Equivalent to Austrian Matura (e.g., IB Diploma, A-Levels, High School Diploma with AP courses).

STEM Focus: Strong grades in mathematics, physics, and chemistry required.

Country-Specific Requirements:

India: 75%+ in 12th grade (PCM focus).

USA: GPA 3.0+ with SAT/ACT (math emphasis).

2. Language Proficiency

German-Taught Programs:

Goethe B2, ÖSD B2, or TestDaF TDN 4.

Exception: Proof of B1 German + enrollment in Leoben’s prep course accepted.

English Proficiency: Required for select courses (IELTS 6.0+/TOEFL 80+).

3. Entrance Exam (STEM-Check)

Format: Online test covering math, physics, and chemistry (high school level).

Waiver: IB/A-Level students with ≥5 in HL Math/Physics may be exempt.

4. Application Process

Deadlines:

EU/EEA: July 15 (Winter), February 15 (Summer).

Non-EU: April 30 (Winter), November 30 (Summer).

Documents:

Transcripts (certified translations).

Passport copy.

Proof of German proficiency.

5. Visa & Finances

Austrian Student Visa: Requires proof of €11,400/year in blocked account.

Health Insurance: Mandatory EU coverage or Austrian policy.
