What is the official language of instruction at the University of Limassol?

The primary language of instruction is English. For programs taught in English, EU nationals undergo a UoL placement test to evaluate their English language proficiency, and if necessary, can enroll in a remedial English course. Non-EU nationals must possess a "Very Good Knowledge" of English at an upper B1 level, verified by an approved international test like IELTS or TOEFL. Students from English-speaking countries are typically exempt.

What are the basic admission requirements for international students?

For undergraduate programs, you need a high school leaving certificate with a minimum grade of 15/20 (for public schools) or 80/100 (for private schools), or three GCE A Level exams with grades ABB. For graduate programs, you need a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program with a 2:2 and above from UK schools, or a 3.0 and above from US schools. All applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency (e.g., IELTS or TOEFL).

Does UoL require an interview or reference letters as part of the admission process?

Yes, for graduate programs, once your application and documents are received and you meet the criteria, the Admissions Officer will contact you to schedule an interview. Additionally, two reference letters are required for graduate applicants, with at least one from an instructor familiar with your educational background.

What types of scholarships and financial aid does UoL offer?

UoL offers merit-based awards for outstanding students and need-based financial aid. This includes a GMAT scholarship (up to 100%), a "Named or Externally Funded Scholarship" for outstanding candidates, and an "Award of Outstanding Performance" of 25% of tuition fees for a graduating GPA of 95/100 or more

Are there any other financial aid options available for students?

Yes, UoL provides other options like a state subsidy (€2,175 to €3,420 for eligible students), assistantships covering up to 25% of tuition, employer sponsorships, bank loans, and alumni discounts (e.g., 50% discount on the MBA for CIIM or UoL MSc alumni).
