Pau, France
Core admission requirements for Master’s degree applicants at the University of Pau and Pays Adour:
A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
You must hold a recognised undergraduate degree (Licence or equivalent) in a discipline aligned with your intended Master’s program—for example, science for a Master in Geoenergies or arts/art history for humanities tracks.
Complete online application by deadline
Applications open from October to April (for the academic year starting in September). You submit your form via the university’s dedicated international admissions platform and must complete all steps—including creating an account and uploading documents—before the deadline.
Required academic transcripts & grading criteria
Provide transcripts with grades and expected graduation date. Review committees evaluate application profiles based on general admission criteria set for each field—such as minimum GPA thresholds or specific coursework.
Language proficiency
For Master’s taught entirely in English, no French proficiency is required. For “Green Asset” tracks taught partly in French, a minimum B1 level of French certification is needed. Applicants should also indicate their approximate French level for class placement.
Supporting documents
At minimum: CV, motivation letter, transcripts, degree certificate, proof of language proficiency (English/French), passport ID page or national identity document. Additional letters of reference or portfolio may be required depending on the program.
Admissions decision & visa procedure
Once your application is complete, UPPA aims to deliver a decision within two months. Admitted international candidates (non-EU) then use the Campus France "Études en France" system to apply for a long?stay student visa.
