Q. How are your programs organized? What is the duration of my program of study?

• The first cycle programs last 6-8 semesters (3-4 years, 180-240 credit points) and lead to a Bachelor’s degree.

• The second cycle programs leading to a Master’s degree, last 2-4 semesters (1-2 years, 60-120 credit points).        

• The OTM (One-tier Master programs) last 10-12 semesters (5-6 years, 240-360 credit points) and lead to a Master's degree.

• A three-year doctoral program is a postgraduate alternative to follow any Master’s or equivalent qualification. For the exact duration of your program

Yes, University of Pécs provides a conditional admission. 

Q. What are the eligibility requirements for admission to University of Pécs?

BACHELOR PROGRAMS – 12th with min English language requirement

BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (BED) TRAINING - you must have been awarded a Bachelor's degree in Teaching by an internationally recognized university and be able to demonstrate the minimum language requirement.

MASTER PROGRAMS - you must have been awarded a Bachelor's degree by an internationally recognized university and be able to demonstrate the minimum language requirement.

PHD PROGRAMS - you must have been awarded a Master’s degree by an internationally recognized university and be able to demonstrate the minimum language requirement.

Language requirement:

For BA/BSc, MA/MSc and PhD/DLA programs-TOEFL (iBT internet-based) -72 points, IELTS – 5.5, Cambridge ESOL – B2 level, TELC – B2 level , ECL – B2 level

For MA in English Studies and PhD in English Applied Linguistics TEFL/TESOL - TOEFL (PBT paper-based) – 557 points, IELTS (Overall Band Score) – 5.5, Cambridge ESOL – B2 level, TELC – B2 level , ECL – B2 level

Note – Duolingo is also acceptable

Q. Can I waive off an English language condition?

You do not have to submit an official English test result if one of the following criteria applies to you: 

• You have a major/minor in English, i.e. the English language is the field of study (studies in English linguistics or literature)

• You have continued your high school or undergraduate studies in the English language entirely, (an official certificate about this fact, issued by your school/university is necessary)

• You are a native English-speaking applicant (a copy of your passport for proof)

Q. How Do I apply to University of Pécs Programs?

• Choose your favourite program, click on Apply Now and start your application.*

• Register on our application site, fill the application form, upload the necessary documents and submit your application!

• After you have submitted your application, you are going to receive a notification for application fee payment.

• When we receive your application fee, we start the evaluation of your application and invite you to the entrance exam or Skype interview.

• If you succeed on the entrance exam/Skype interview, you receive the Conditional Acceptance Letter and a notification for tuition fee payment.

• When we receive your tuition fee, we issue you the Letter of Admission and you can start arranging your travel to Pécs!

Q. Does University of Pécs require GMAT?

Standardized tests such as the GMAT and GRE are not required to apply for University of Pécs.

Q. What are the documents needed for the applications to University of Pécs?

• Copy of your secondary school leaving certificate/ college diploma/BA/MA/PhD degree.

• Copy of your transcript of previous studies or academic records 

• CV in the language of instruction.

• Completed application form with a passport size photo 

• Proof of language knowledge (e.g. Language exam certificate)

• The payment receipt of the application fee

• Motivation letter

• Medical certificate, Vaccination card and HIV test**

• Copy of the photo-page(s) of your passport

**According to the Operational Crew of the University of Pécs, the admission procedure can be conducted, and the Letter of Acceptance can be issued without the applicant’s Medical Certificate as a temporary measure for the 2021 intake.

Q. What should I need to mention in Motivation letter?

One of the most important parts of your application is the motivation letter. Its goal is to introduce your background and support your application. In short, its goal is to answer the question:

• “Why are you a suitable candidate?”

• Write in a clear and logical manner: remember, the way you write and present yourself says a lot about you.

Some points that may help you answer this question:

• Why have I chosen to apply to this programme?

• What do I expect to gain from my studies?

• Why does my background make me a suitable candidate?

• How will the programme help me to achieve my goals?

Note: Please write at least 3000 characters, but not more than 3500 characters. (Should be only in Word document format).

Q. What is the application fee in University of Pécs?

100 Euro application fee for 3 years of Bachelors, 150 USD for Engineering and IT programs (Bachelors and Masters), 200 Euro for Engineer Assistant - Airline Pilot and Nil for PHD.

Q.  How many Intakes University of Pécs has?
