There are seven campuses of the university. In addition to the main campus, which is situated in Southampton's Highfield neighbourhood, there are four other campuses spread throughout the city: the School of Humanities' Avenue Campus, the National Oceanography Centre's Ocean and Earth Sciences courses, Southampton General Hospital's Medicine and Health Sciences courses, and the Boldrewood Campus, which houses Lloyd's Register and an engineering and maritime technology campus. The university also runs an international branch in Malaysia that offers engineering courses, as well as a School of Art located in the neighbouring city of Winchester.

Only when you feel comfortable and secure can you perform at your best in college. They take the safety and well-being of their students extremely seriously. Winchester and Southampton are both safe cities; in fact, Southampton is the third-best city in the UK to live and work. They have teams of individuals committed to ensuring the safety of their campuses and accommodations, and their campuses are located in affluent, green neighbourhoods with low crime rates. Out-of-hours managers from the Residences Life Cycle team are stationed in the halls from 18:00 to 8:00. They answer questions, handle crises, and help students live in safety and harmony while living on campus. Every campus is patrolled by our security teams. These amiable groups, who work for the university, make sure their campuses are safe every single day. These security groups: are first aid certified, routinely patrol all of our campuses, keep an eye on our campus-wide CCTV systems, and respond to any alerts.

University of Southampton provide reasonably priced rooms to fit your lifestyle and budget, as well as possibilities to live near universities or in the heart of the city. We provide a few postgraduate choices as well. All resident halls owned by the University of Southampton have round-the-clock security and reception. Free use of the Southampton Unilink bus system (available only in resident halls owned by the University of Southampton). Although the deadline for the accommodation guarantee has past, applications are still being accepted. For 2024–2025, there aren't many spaces available in university halls. Please use the accomodation page to apply if you are seeking for lodging. For the best chance of receiving an offer, please apply as soon as possible, however there is no assurance that you will receive one.

Each hall is separated into apartments, each of which has a shared kitchen and single-occupancy bedrooms. Along with spaces for washing and socialising, some of our halls also include gyms and other recreational amenities. They have seven residence halls with a wide variety of accommodation options. You can apply for three to five different rooms. Students can select from a variety of room styles in the university's hallways, depending on their personal preferences. Students can request calmer apartments, single-sex apartments, alcohol-free apartments, postgraduate apartments, or rooms with friends at City Gateway, which also offers one-bedroom apartments for couples. Couples can also find one-bedroom apartments at Mayflower and Glen Eyre. The largest student community, Glen Eyre, boasts excellent facilities and a plenty of green space. Highfield Hall: Conventional lodging adjacent to Southampton Common's serene green area and near the Highfield and Avenue campuses.
