Winchester and Southampton are both safe cities; in fact, Southampton is the third-best city in the UK to live and work. They have teams of individuals committed to ensuring the safety of their campuses and accommodations, and their campuses are located in affluent, green neighbourhoods with low crime rates. Out-of-hours managers from the Residences Life Cycle team are stationed in the halls from 18:00 to 8:00. They answer questions, handle crises, and help students live in safety and harmony while living on campus. Every campus is patrolled by our security teams. These amiable groups, who work for the university, make sure their campuses are safe every single day. These security groups: are first aid certified, routinely patrol all of our campuses, keep an eye on our campus-wide CCTV systems, and respond to any alerts.
