History

In 1883, about 140 years ago, The University of Texas at Austin opened with one building,8 professors, and 221 students. Today, the University of Texas ranks among the top 40 universities in the world. The university is based on public research. It is a community with more than 51,000 students in its 18 colleges and schools, their teachers, researchers and staff. It has a global network of nearly half a million alumni.

Student Society-

The University of Texas at Austin is not just about the classroom, lab and library it is about much more. Since 1916, Recreational Sports has promoted physical fitness, healthy habits, and balanced behaviour through an area of recreation facilities, programs, services and special events.
