The University has established UoWM Welcome Points in all five cities where it operates, in collaboration with the respective Municipalities, as the first information and reception points for new students.
The University offers all members of the university community free access to MATLAB, Simulink and all accompanying toolboxes, as well as SPSS software licenses. The University participates in the Google Workspace for Education program
Upon enrolment, students receive a Letter of Acceptance certificate, which they must present to the Greek consular authorities of their country to obtain a visa. The Programme Committee may request an advance payment of the first instalment of the tuition fees before sending the Letter of Acceptance
The University provides student housing through Student Residences across its campuses, with a Student Residence Hall operating in Grevena at 42 Eirinis Street. All undergraduate students are required to submit a new electronic application each academic year for accommodation in the Student Residences, as the duration of stay expires at the end of the September examination period
The University recommends booking flights to Thessaloniki, as it is about an hour and a half away from Kozani (about 140 km), while Athens is about seven hours away (about 500 km)
All non-EU students expected to stay in Greece longer than three months must address themselves to the Ministry of Interior - Aliens and Immigration Department in order to obtain a Residence permit.
The University provides information and support regarding post-study opportunities, with the type D Visa for studies having a duration of 4.5 years (including 6 months for the optional practical placement). After completing studies, graduates may be eligible to apply for residence permits for work, provided they submit a contract of employment stating that their remuneration is at least equal to the monthly remuneration of the unskilled worker
