1. International students applying to Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for undergraduate programmes must generally have completed 12 years of schooling equivalent to the Indian 10+2 system and must meet the subject and minimum mark requirements of their chosen programme.

2. For B.Tech programmes, foreign applicants must have studied English at the higher secondary level or in an English medium school, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, plus Chemistry, Computing Sciences, Electronics, Biology or Biotechnology as the third relevant subject.

3. A minimum 55% aggregate in the required subjects is normally required; candidates following PCB are eligible for specified bio related programmes, subject to additional requirements.

4. Applicants must provide proof of foreign nationality, normally a valid passport, along with their 11th and 12th grade marksheets or equivalent academic records.

5. VIT accepts recognised international qualifications such as GCE/A Levels, International Baccalaureate, US High School Diploma, Canadian Grade 12 and equivalent qualifications from several other countries.

6. Students whose qualifications come from boards not specifically listed by VIT must obtain a UGC equivalence certificate.
