Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts

Because they only train the best, restricting the number of courses they offer and teaching in small groups, conservatorium training is inherently selective. Since theater is a collaborative art form and our training emphasizes the value of teamwork in achieving excellence, the ensemble is at the center of their work. Since they are preparing students for a career and theater is a vocation, the training is vocational. Drama is about being and doing, so the training is hands-on. Their commissioning and creative program allows artists and practitioners to reflect, analyze their own work, and contribute to a constantly changing profession. The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts provides an innovative setting for artistic growth.

Infrastructure & Facilities at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts

LAMDA made the decision to relocate its theater and teaching school to Hammersmith, West London, in 2003. It purchased the former Talgarth Road location of the Royal Ballet School. LAMDA was able to construct a campus with new training facilities created by Niall McLaughlin Architects thanks to the relocation to Talgarth Road. The Royal Ballet School used to be located there, but it moved to new, specially constructed buildings next to the Royal Opera House. In addition to several conference rooms and practice areas, the LAMDA complex features three theaters. The Sainsbury Theatre, the Carne Studio Theatre, and the Linbury Studio are the three theaters. There is a lot going on in the LAMDA building. Every weekday, their students train from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; outside of these hours, they organize LAMDA London Public Exams, welcome schools for seminars, and host performances for the public and industry guests.
