Work from home is a danger for women according to universities

Posted on: March 14, 2022

Work from home became a popular concept during the pandemic and even now when the pandemic has ended, people are preferring to work from home only. The impact of work from home is very different on women as compared to men. A survey was conducted to check the productivity of men and women during work from the home period in Canada and Australia. According to the survey, women were more prone to experiencing work pressure than men. A major reason behind this is the fact that women at home were also under obligations to do domestic work and take care of children if there were any at home. Striking the balance between these two dimensions can be consuming. Even now when the situation has gone back to normal may a lot of women are choosing to stay at home and work. This may seem like a good of saving time and money but the physical representation of women in workplaces will become very less which is concerning.

How SAT’s make a difference in admission?

Posted on: March 11, 2022

Earlier SAT’s were a compulsory requisite for many universities especially among the USA. Now after the pandemic many universities have made the SAT’s an optional test for students. Students can now give SAR’s as per their choice. But still it would be wrong to say that students with good SAT scores do not have an edge over the others who didn’t even appear for it. Top colleges look for all rounder students who have a knack over everything. Scoring good in SAT’s gives you a certain amount of privilege even though they are not a necessary criteria anymore. Also SAT’s are more rational as they serve as a common medium of assessment. Checking students with respect to their grades from their home countries and comparing them can become difficult for universities.

A big credit can also be asserted to the pandemic after which people have become more aware of the possibilities of a potential man-made calamity. It is because of that, the new generation wants to understand the science behind it and discover possible solutions to help mankind.

Students scammed by three Canadian colleges

Posted on: March 10, 2022

Around 700 students from India have been scammed by three Canadian colleges all of which are run by Phoenix International Inc as they declared themselves bankrupt. The colleges are called M College in Montreal, CED College in Sherbrooke, and CCSQ College in Longueuil. After two years of online classes, they have now shut down due to the unavailability of funds. The Indian High Commission has issued a notice regarding the same and asked students to remain aware and make proper research before getting themselves into a college overseas. The Canadian government has offered help by giving the students an opportunity to study in a different college in Canada as further investigations continue.

Why do International students choose Canada over Russia?

Posted on: March 10, 2022

One of the biggest reasons why students choose Canada over America is the difference between the visa permits of both countries. While the USA has very strict criteria, Canada is flexible with its study permits. If we look at the past figures we see a huge difference between the work permits offered by both the countries. In 2017 Canada offered 317328 work permits to students whereas the USA remained restricted to just 271738 students. Other reasons can be the high tuition fee in the USA as well as the hard to get scholarships. Studying in Canada comes with the extra benefit of being able to live and work there after the completion of one’s studies.
