Delhi University to release its result of final UG spot around on 27 September 2023

Delhi University will announce the result of its final UG spot on 27 September 2023. After this new students will be able to take admission into Delhi University for the session of 2023. Candidates will be able to accept the allotted seats till 28 September, 2023. In the final round, the seats will be allotted on the basis of merit, availability and program. The last date to make the payment will be 30th September, 2023.

The University of Delhi had previously released its list of vacant seats on the official website. Candidates had the opportunity to apply for the seats on the basis of vacancy. Now the result is awaited which will be declared by 5 PM on 27th September.

US records 90000 Indian student visas this year which is the highest number globally

The United States of America mission in India has issued over 90,000 student visas to Indian students in the summer of 2023. This is the highest number of visas offered by the United States of America to the citizens of any country globally.

Just like the USA, there has been a surge in the number of students from India going to the UK. As per the data issued by the UK's home office, the United Kingdom offered more than 1,42,000 visas to Indian students in 2023 itself. By looking at the growing numbers of Indian students who want to study abroad, many countries have started introducing special scholarship programmes and immigration initiatives for Indian students.

Reliance foundation in announces scholarships for 5000 meritorious students

Reliance foundation has announced its UG scholarship to support 5000 meritorious students in India. The scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to students on the basis of merit and need. All the students who have a family income under Rs.15,00,00 annually can apply for the scholarship. But more preference will be given to students who have an annual household income less than Rs.2.5 lakhs. The eligibility criteria for the scholarship is pretty simple. The candidate must have passed class 12th and should be a citizen of India. It is compulsory to score at least 60% in your class 12th board exams. The scholarship amount received by the candidates will be used to pay the tuition fee of their college program.

International scholarship that are still open for students for the session of 2023 2024

Most of the scholarships available for international students in 2023 have crossed deadlines. But still there are some scholarships which are still open for international students. Let's have a look at some of the scholarships that students can still apply for in 2023.

  1. Yale university scholarship

The deadline for the scholarship is 15th December, 2023. All the undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students who want to study in Yale can apply for the same.

  1. MEXT scholarship

This scholarship is open for students till first October, 2023. It is offered by the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia.

  1. Chevening scholarship

This is one of the most prestigious scholarships of the UK. Students can apply for the same till 7th November, 2023. The scholarship also covers all the costs of the selected students.

New Zealand study abroad excellence scholarship program open for international students

The official registration process for the New Zealand study abroad Excellence Scholarship has officially begun. Interested candidates can apply for the scholarship till 15th October, 2023. The scholarship package offers a range of prizes from NZ$10,000 to NZ$20,000 per candidate.

The scholarship amount will be used to pay the tuition class of the selected candidates. The scholarship will be awarded both on the basis of merit and need. IELTS enrolment falls in Punjab due to tensions between India and Canada

The diplomatic tensions between India and Canada have led to suspicions over the ban of immigration services between both the countries. Canada has been one of the top choices for Indian students for the last many years. Students from the northern part of India especially go to Canada in high numbers every year. With these rising tensions, the enrolment rate for IELTS exam in Punjab has fallen down as there is uncertainty of immigration policies. Steve Smith, who is one of the visiting delegation from the UK to India has said that the country has been constantly working to make sure that international students do not face accommodation crunch in the country. Recently the UK was in the news for not having enough accommodation options for international students. Most of the students are unable to find accommodation in the UK and the ones who do  have to pay higher rents. As a result many students are taking their classes online and not attending off-line classes. The UK delegation said that the country and the universities are working to offer more accommodation options to students at affordable rent.

UGC to organize a G20 event in New Delhi for higher education institutions

The University grants commission is all set to organise a G20 connect program on 26 September in New Delhi. Honourable Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi will also be a part of the connect program. The prime minister will interact with vice chancellors and principles of various  institutions. Deadline for the Telangana chief minister oversees scholarship program extended

Deadline for the Telangana chief minister's overseas scholarship programme has been extended. The scholarship especially meant for underprivileged students who want to study abroad, but do not have the financial resources for the same. Students can apply for the scholarship till 25th September, 2023. there was some technical issues on the good governance portal where students can submit their application for the scholarship. Due to this technical error, it was decided that the deadline of the scholarship will be postponed. more than 600 applications have been received by the government of Telangana through various students from the underprivileged section of the state.

Fresh timetable released for NEET PG counselling 2023

The Ministry of Health and Welfare has made a significant decision by abolishing the percentile system in the NEET exam. Now students will no longer be required to score any minimum percentile to be eligible for counselling. The minimum percentile or the cut-off will be zero for all category students from now on. The counselling for the NEET PG exam is going on right now. This examination is a gateway for medical aspirants who want to take admission in post graduate medical courses in India. 

The timetable of the third round has been officially released. Candidates have to register for the counselling round freshly and pay the compulsory registration fee to become a part of the process. A stray vacancy round will also be conducted for students who failed to register in previous counselling rounds or did not get any seat.

Is Canada likely to suspend visa services in India

In the middle of political tensions, India has suspended visa services for Canadian nationals. Many immigrants and students who are planning to immigrate to Canada are worried if Canada would suspend visa services for India. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has addressed this issue on Thursday but did not make it clear if Canada is planning to reciprocate the action. 

When asked about Canada's future plan regarding the  foreign policy, the Prime Minister replied that he was not looking to provoke India or spoil international relations with the country. The Canadian High Commission has not made any official statement with regards to the visa and immigration policies of Canada in respect with Indian citizens.

 

Indian medical graduates will be able to practise medicine in the US and Australia and Canada

The National Medical Council of India has achieved a WFME recognition which means that Indian medical students will be able to practise medicine globally. Indian medical graduates will have more global opportunities. The NMC has been able to get recognition from the World Federation of Medical Education. Now students will be able to practise medicine in countries like the US, Australia, New Zealand in Canada. All the 706 medical colleges in India will be recognised by WFME. Besides this, the other upcoming medical colleges that are yet to be established, will also get the same recognition. This will make Indian students eligible to apply for the education commission on the Foreign Medical Education and the United States medical licensing exam.

British Council announces 12 new scholarships for Indian students

Recently, the British Council has made an announcement of 12 new grants at the India, UK Higher education conference in New Delhi. All these grants are worth £500,000. These grants will be offered under various categories with collaborating institutions including Cardiff University and the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. The purpose of these grants is to introduce the concept of sustainability in India. This includes sustainability in all spectrums of life, including environment, teaching, media and marketing.

IIT Kanpur launches for new post graduate courses without GATE scores

IIT Kanpur has launched four new online postgraduate courses that won't require GATE scores for admission. Students can get admission to these courses without GATE scores. Students can apply at the official portal of IIT Kanpur. The courses will be offered in the field of climate, finance and sustainability, renewable energy and e-immobility, artificial intelligence, business, leadership and many more. All of these courses are coming of age courses that will help students in learning about sustainability and artificial intelligence. Other than practical skills, students will also be taught soft skills that have become extremely important.

India suspends visa services for Canadians among political tensions

India has suspended visa services for Canadian nationals among the political tensions between the two countries that have heightened in the past few days. Although no official announcement has been made from India, BLS international that runs visa services in Canada for India has tweeted that due to technical errors, visa services for India in Canada will remain suspended till further notice. This is the first time since the pandemic that India has suspended visa services for Canada.

For more confirmation, people tried to look at the Indian High commission website, but no information could be found as the website was down. The geopolitical tensions between India and Canada are likely to bring major impacts on immigrants on both ends.
