Here are the top Italian scholarships for students in 2023.

  1. Italian government scholarship

This scholarship gives a monthly payment of €900 to the selected students under which the tuition fees, the accommodation and a lot of other expenses are covered.

  1. Scuola Normale Superiore PhD Scholarship

This scholarship is given to 75 selected students where their tuition fees and living expenses are covered. Students are also given other extra fundings for research facilities.

  1. Bocconi University Scholarship

This scholarship is accessible for both bachelors and masters students. Students can get a scholarship worth €12,000 if selected by the university. The scholarship amount has to be used to pay the tuition fees.

  1. University of Bologna scholarship

Telangana to organise the NMMS scholarship test on 10th December

Telangana NMMS scholarship which stands for National Means cum Merit Scholarship test will be conducted on 10th December, 2023. The test will be conducted across all 33 districts of Telangana. Students will be able to give the test in Telugu, Hindi, English and Urdu. All the students studying in school are eligible for this scholarship. The minimum eligibility criteria for unreserved students is to have a score of atleast 55% in class seventh exams and for reserved categories it is 50%. The last day for registration is October 13, 2023. Candidates will have to submit the documents of their caste certificate along with their application to be eligible for the seats under the reserved category.

Australian private colleges to be banned from having tie ups with consultants who exploit students

The government of Australia has decided to follow a crackdown policy due to the recent exploitation of international students. The government will develop regulations that will protect students from any scams related to admissions and visas. Under the crackdown, private colleges in Australia will be banned from paying money to consultants for luring students to transfer from one university to another. Many immigration agents promote international students to get admission into low quality universities in Australia due to the commission that they get from these universities. 

The government will also start monitoring international students and their university attendance to make sure that they're using their student visas in the right way and not just work. International education is worth $17 billion to Australia due to which Australia takes it very seriously.

Number of international student studying in Ireland have grown tenfold in the last 10 years

In 2023, Ireland received more than 7000 Indian students as immigrants. Back in 2013, Ireland only received 700 Indian students. In the past decade, there has been a tenfold increase in the number of students going to Ireland from India for higher education. Students are also given two years post study work visa after completing their higher education in Ireland to look for jobs. Around 90% of students who go to Ireland for higher education pursue post graduate courses, whereas only 10% of students pursue undergraduate courses. Ireland is now trying to promote courses like hotel management, hospitality and nursing among international students. Delhi University to announce the results of PG spot round today

Delhi University will be announcing the results of the post-graduation spot around today. Students who registered for the same will get to know if they have been allotted a seat under the second spot around or not. Candidates will have to accept their seats by 5th October. Delhi University has also announced that more spot rounds will be conducted if the PG seats do not get filled completely by the second spot round for postgraduate programmes. Several short term study abroad program applications for 2024 out now for registration

The Centre for Global Education and Fellowship has finally released applications for short-term study abroad programmes for 2024. There are more than seven short-term study abroad programmes that will take place in several study abroad destinations like the US, Ireland, and England. These programs can take place in summer, spring and fall intake. Depending upon program to program, the duration may range from 1 to 4 weeks.

Delhi University starts registration for law programs

The Faculty of Law at Delhi University has started taking applications for Law programs offered by the university. Candidates can register for the two programmes offered that include BA LLB and BBA LLB. To be eligible for registration, the candidates must have passed their high school. Any candidate who wants to register under a specific quota must have the important documents.

Delhi University will give admission to students on the basis of their CLAT scores. Unreserved candidates will have to pay a registration fee of Rs.1500. Whereas candidates from reserved categories will have to pay a registration fee of Rs.1000.

SBI and IDP collaborate to offer education loans to students for studying abroad

15 to 20 percent increase in the number of students going to France from India every year

France recently made headlines for starting an initiative to attract at least 30,000 from India till 2030. France also conducted a choose France tour in India across four metropolitan cities. More than 50 universities from France were a part of this tour and sent their officials to India to interact with students and parents. Right now more than 6000 students from India are studying in France. There has been an annual 15% to 20% increase in the number of students going from India to France for higher education. More than 65% of students going to France from India choose business and management as their programmes. 10% of students go for STEM programs.

Indians represent more than 10 percent of the total visa applications for the US

The US embassy recently announced that it has processed more than 1 million visa applications for Indian immigrants, especially students this year. This number is equal to 20% of the total visa applications processed in 2022. In 2023, Indian immigrants made up 10% of the total visa applications processed by the US Embassy. Indian students made up for 20% of the student visa applications processed in total by the US embassy in 2023. 65% of the visas under H&L category also belong to Indians. The US is planning to implement a domestic pilot programme from next year. That will allow skilled and capable immigrants under the H & L category to stay in the country for a longer time.

York University starts registration for the International Scholarship of Excellence

York University, Canada is offering a full time scholarship known as the International Scholarship of Excellence to international students. The application deadline is 1st February, 2024. This is for the 2024 to 2025 academic year. Students from various countries are eligible for the scholarship. University of Toronto to provide immigration and mental health assistance to international students

Singapore International Graduate Scholarship out for students

The Singapore international graduate scholarship has been officially started for international students. This is a fully funded scholarship for students who want to pursue their PhD in Singapore. The scholarship is offered by a multitude of institutions in Singapore including Nanyang Institute of Technology, the National University of Singapore, and the University of Technology and Design Singapore. The deadline to apply for the same is 1st December, 2023.

PM Young Achievers Scholarship award to be given on the basis of school Merit

The Prime Minister's Young Achievers Scholarship award for vibrant India will be granted on the basis of school merit this year. Earlier it was decided that the scholarship will be given on the basis of an entrance test which will be conducted by the government. But now it has been decided that no entrance test will be conducted and students will get scholarships on the basis of their marks in class 10th and 12th. The examination for the scholarship was scheduled to be conducted on 29 September 2023. All the candidates who scored more than 60% in class 8th and 10th are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The scholarship has been specially introduced for the benefit of economically backward, tribal and other backward students. It will help more than 30,000 students of India whose family income is less than Rs.2,50,000.

New Zealand modifies immigration rules for international citizens

IIM Bangalore to give more details to Interview for admission

Recently, IIM Bangalore has made some revisions in its admission process. The institute has decided to give more weightage to interviews from now on. Earlier more weightage was given to the CAT exam scores. Then the candidates were shortlisted on the basis of the written test and group discussions. The interview is the final round of the selection process during which candidates have to appear before a panel.

CAT is one of the most competitive exams in the country and most of the IIM’s give most weightage to the CAT scores. IIM Ahmedabad is one of the few IIMs that gives more weightage to personal interview rounds. Now IIM Bangalore has also revised its admission criteria and will be giving more importance to the personal interview stage.
