AIIMS Rishikesh has an integrated medical-education and healthcare campus with modern hospital, academic, research, residential and digital infrastructure. Its hospital has expanded from 200 inpatient beds in 2013 to around 1,000 beds, supported by more than 40 departments and 85 specialty clinics, along with separate Trauma Surgery and Emergency Medicine services operating around the clock. The institute also has advanced academic facilities such as virtual dissection, skills laboratories and teaching spaces, while research infrastructure supports clinical, translational, public-health and biomedical research.
The campus provides student hostels, reading rooms, common rooms, libraries, canteens, parking and recreational facilities. Hostel rooms are furnished and include facilities such as power backup, water coolers, geysers and internet connectivity provisions; CCTV surveillance and 24-hour security are also provided. AIIMS Rishikesh has also developed strong digital infrastructure, including e-Hospital, electronic health records, hospital information systems, e-office, campus-management software and telemedicine services. Its IT infrastructure supports secure networks, servers, digital applications and cybersecurity.
AIIMS Rishikesh offers a vibrant student life that combines demanding medical education with sports, cultural activities, student clubs and social events. Students can participate in tennis, badminton, basketball, volleyball, cricket and football, along with indoor games and gym facilities. The annual Pyrexia student fest brings together students from AIIMS Rishikesh and other colleges for cultural and talent-based activities, while clubs, photography activities, hiking expeditions and programmes organised through SPIC MACAY provide additional opportunities for creative and cultural engagement.
The residential experience is an important part of campus life. Hostels provide furnished rooms, reading rooms, common rooms, libraries, 24-hour canteens and recreational facilities, while the campus also provides bicycles for convenient movement between hostels, academic buildings and the hospital. The student-supervised mess offers a varied menu representing different parts of India, making it easier for students from diverse backgrounds to adapt to campus living.
Student wellbeing is supported through the Student Welfare Body and Dean of Students Welfare, which encourage academic, cultural, literary and sports activities. The Youth Centre, established in 2020, provides confidential counselling, wellness services, stress-management and mental-health support, including a 24×7 on-call service. The multicultural environment, with students coming from different parts of India, further contributes to a diverse and collaborative campus experience.

AIIMS Rishikesh provides strong employment opportunities through its hospital, academic departments and research programmes, although recruitment is primarily conducted through official institutional vacancies and national recruitment examinations rather than conventional campus-placement drives. In 2026, recruitment included faculty positions, Senior Residents, nursing and other Group A/B posts, along with positions under the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE).
The institute also offers opportunities through extramural research projects and internships, allowing students and graduates to gain practical experience in clinical research, public health and healthcare technologies. Recent project recruitment has covered areas such as medical research, nursing, public health, tele-mental health, emergency medicine, oncology and vaccine trials. AIIMS Rishikesh also maintains an Internship Zone, including Medical Physics internship opportunities.
For medical graduates, career pathways include Junior/Senior Residency, faculty positions and specialist roles, while nursing and allied-health graduates can apply for relevant vacancies when advertised. The institute publishes recruitment notifications, eligibility criteria, application procedures and results on its official recruitment portal.
The below information is required while
completing the university application :
1. For MBBS admission, international applicants to AIIMS Rishikesh generally need to meet the eligibility requirements applicable to Indian candidates, including completion of 10+2 or an equivalent secondary qualification with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English, and fulfil the prescribed age and academic requirements.
2. Admission to the MBBS programme is conducted through the NEET UG and Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) counselling process for the applicable categories. The MCC has published the 2026 UG Information Bulletin, so applicants should follow the current-year rules rather than older AIIMS prospectuses.
3. International applicants should prepare their passport/identity documents, secondary school certificate and marksheets, proof of qualifying examination, photographs and other documents specified by MCC/AIIMS.
4. Foreign educational qualifications may need appropriate equivalence/eligibility verification before admission.
5. Applicants allotted an AIIMS Rishikesh seat must report with the MCC provisional seat allotment letter, NEET scorecard and admit card, 10th and 10+2 certificates/marksheets, migration or transfer certificate and character certificate, along with other documents required at reporting.
6. For foreign nationals and OCI applicants, the exact admission route and eligibility can differ according to the current MCC/AIIMS rules.
7. AIIMS Rishikesh's older B.Sc. prospectuses explicitly provided a separate foreign national route, including diplomatic channel submission, but these provisions should not be assumed to apply to the current MBBS intake because admission rules have changed over time.
