AIIMS Rishikesh has an integrated medical-education and healthcare campus with modern hospital, academic, research, residential and digital infrastructure. Its hospital has expanded from 200 inpatient beds in 2013 to around 1,000 beds, supported by more than 40 departments and 85 specialty clinics, along with separate Trauma Surgery and Emergency Medicine services operating around the clock. The institute also has advanced academic facilities such as virtual dissection, skills laboratories and teaching spaces, while research infrastructure supports clinical, translational, public-health and biomedical research.
The campus provides student hostels, reading rooms, common rooms, libraries, canteens, parking and recreational facilities. Hostel rooms are furnished and include facilities such as power backup, water coolers, geysers and internet connectivity provisions; CCTV surveillance and 24-hour security are also provided. AIIMS Rishikesh has also developed strong digital infrastructure, including e-Hospital, electronic health records, hospital information systems, e-office, campus-management software and telemedicine services. Its IT infrastructure supports secure networks, servers, digital applications and cybersecurity.

AIIMS Rishikesh provides comprehensive academic, personal and wellbeing support through its Dean of Student Welfare, Student Welfare Body and Youth Centre. The Student Welfare Body acts as a link between students and the administration and supports academic, social, cultural, literary and sports activities. The Youth Centre, established in 2020, offers a confidential and non-stigmatising environment for counselling, mental-health education, stress management, suicide-prevention support and life-skills development. It is supported by mental-health professionals in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry and also provides a 24×7 on-call service.
Students also benefit from well-equipped hostels, reading rooms, libraries, common rooms, 24×7 canteen facilities, sports facilities and campus transportation. Hostel premises have round-the-clock CCTV monitoring and security personnel, while the institute provides free bicycles for movement between hostels, academic areas and the hospital. The institute's Student Corner additionally provides access to academic calendars, learning resources, mess facilities, sports, library services, cultural programmes and information on anti-ragging measures.
AIIMS Rishikesh also supports students who may face financial difficulties; its campus-life information notes that the Central Library provides long-term book loans to economically weaker students. Overall, the support system combines academic guidance, mental-health and psychosocial care, accommodation, recreation, student representation and welfare services to help students manage the demanding nature of medical education.
AIIMS Rishikesh offers a vibrant student life that combines demanding medical education with sports, cultural activities, student clubs and social events. Students can participate in tennis, badminton, basketball, volleyball, cricket and football, along with indoor games and gym facilities. The annual Pyrexia student fest brings together students from AIIMS Rishikesh and other colleges for cultural and talent-based activities, while clubs, photography activities, hiking expeditions and programmes organised through SPIC MACAY provide additional opportunities for creative and cultural engagement.
The residential experience is an important part of campus life. Hostels provide furnished rooms, reading rooms, common rooms, libraries, 24-hour canteens and recreational facilities, while the campus also provides bicycles for convenient movement between hostels, academic buildings and the hospital. The student-supervised mess offers a varied menu representing different parts of India, making it easier for students from diverse backgrounds to adapt to campus living.
Student wellbeing is supported through the Student Welfare Body and Dean of Students Welfare, which encourage academic, cultural, literary and sports activities. The Youth Centre, established in 2020, provides confidential counselling, wellness services, stress-management and mental-health support, including a 24×7 on-call service. The multicultural environment, with students coming from different parts of India, further contributes to a diverse and collaborative campus experience.

AIIMS Rishikesh provides furnished hostel accommodation for students, residents and other eligible members of the institute, subject to availability. The hostels are designed to meet students’ day-to-day needs and provide well-ventilated furnished rooms with beds, tables, chairs, cupboards and bookshelves. Facilities include reading rooms in undergraduate and nursing hostels, common rooms with television, water coolers with RO systems, geysers, electricity backup, newspapers, reception areas and a 24×7 canteen.
The residential campus also provides CCTV surveillance and 24×7 security personnel, dedicated parking and regular housekeeping and maintenance. A guest-house facility is available for students, residents and visitors, while free bicycles are provided for commuting between the hostels, academic buildings and hospital. AIIMS Rishikesh also provides nutritious food through the student mess.
Separate accommodation is available for different student categories, including MBBS, nursing, postgraduate and resident students, with hostel administration supported by designated faculty provosts. Hostel accommodation is subject to availability, and the institute provides hostel-related information and admission formalities during the student joining process.

AIIMS Rishikesh has several measures to support student safety across its academic and residential campus. The student hostels have CCTV surveillance for round-the-clock monitoring and 24×7 security personnel, along with dedicated parking and controlled visitor access. The institute also maintains a Security Section for campus protection and monitoring.
The institute follows a strict anti-ragging policy and has an Anti-Ragging Committee and separate anti-ragging squads for the boys’ and girls’ hostels. The committee includes senior faculty, administrative representatives, student and parent representatives, and the local police station in-charge. Ragging is strictly prohibited and incidents can be reported to the designated authorities.
AIIMS Rishikesh also provides mechanisms for addressing sexual harassment and other safety concerns through its Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), which accepts written and online complaints. Hostel rules include attendance requirements, visitor restrictions and specified gate timings to strengthen residential security. Students are additionally advised to avoid swimming in the nearby Ganga River and entering forest areas around Rajaji National Park, particularly after dusk, because of environmental and wildlife-related risks.

AIIMS Rishikesh provides strong employment opportunities through its hospital, academic departments and research programmes, although recruitment is primarily conducted through official institutional vacancies and national recruitment examinations rather than conventional campus-placement drives. In 2026, recruitment included faculty positions, Senior Residents, nursing and other Group A/B posts, along with positions under the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE).
The institute also offers opportunities through extramural research projects and internships, allowing students and graduates to gain practical experience in clinical research, public health and healthcare technologies. Recent project recruitment has covered areas such as medical research, nursing, public health, tele-mental health, emergency medicine, oncology and vaccine trials. AIIMS Rishikesh also maintains an Internship Zone, including Medical Physics internship opportunities.
For medical graduates, career pathways include Junior/Senior Residency, faculty positions and specialist roles, while nursing and allied-health graduates can apply for relevant vacancies when advertised. The institute publishes recruitment notifications, eligibility criteria, application procedures and results on its official recruitment portal.
