Here are seven key admission requirements for the Master’s programs at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET):
Academic Background: Applicants must possess a four-year Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. Engg., B.A., B.Sc. (Hons.), B.Tech., M.A., M.Sc., MSS, B.Arch., or BURP) in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Minimum GPA: A minimum GPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 or at least 50% marks (or equivalent) in the undergraduate degree is required.
Secondary Education Performance: Applicants must have at least two first divisions or first classes in public examinations (S.S.C. and H.S.C. or their equivalents) and should not have any third division/class in any public examination.
Graduate Degree Requirements: For certain programs, a Master of Science in Engineering (M.Sc. Engg.) or Master of Engineering (M. Engg.) degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75 out of 4.00 in the relevant field is required.
Thesis Requirement: Master’s degree programs typically require the completion of a thesis, contributing to a significant portion of the total credit hours.
Publication Requirement: Students are often required to publish a paper in an indexed journal as part of their thesis work.
Entrance Examination: Applicants may be required to appear for an interview and/or written test as part of the admission process.
