This permit allows you to search for employment or self-employment related to your qualification. You must apply to the Berlin Immigration Office (Landesamt für Einwanderung) before your student residence permit expires. The extension cannot exceed 18 months total .

You must hold a valid residence permit at the time of application, have successfully completed your degree, and maintain your main residence in Berlin.
