1. Application and fee: Submit the online application with a $20 nonrefundable fee (payable online, by check, or money order).
2. Passport: Provide a copy of the biographical page of a valid passport (valid at least 6 months beyond program start).
3. English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.5, PTE 53, or iTEP 4.0. Waivers available for degree holders from English speaking countries, those with 24+ credits from U.S./English speaking institutions, or previous test scores meeting standards. Students below these scores may complete a 12 week English program, then need TOEFL 460 PBT/48 iBT or IELTS 5.0.
4. Transcripts: Submit official transcripts from all post secondary institutions. Non U.S. transcripts require a course by course evaluation with GPA conversion and English translation. Only regionally accredited institutions accepted. Approved evaluation services: WES, ECE, TEC.
5. GPA and test scores: Minimum undergraduate GPA 3.0, or 3.0 in last 60 credits, or GMAT 500 / GRE equivalent, or composite score of 3200 using GMAT + (GPA x 1000), or 3.0 GPA on 12 graduate credits.
6. Affidavit of Financial Support: Signed contract between the university and sponsor agreeing to pay all student costs.
7. Proof of guaranteed funds: Financial statements dated within 6 months, showing a 6 month balance history, stamped by the bank. Additional funds required for dependents: $10,000 spouse, $6,000 per child. Acceptable sources: checking/savings, CDs, money market, scholarships, loans. Unacceptable: stocks, mutual funds, business accounts, salary statements, tax returns, property.
8. Official documents: Must come directly from the source (school, bank, test center) in a sealed envelope or via official email. Documents sent by the student are not official.
9. Deadlines: Recommended submission by June for fall, November for spring. I 20 issued after meeting admission and USCIS regulations.
10. Additional compulsory requirements: International students must be at least 17 years old. Only two master's programs are available for F1 students: MBA and MS in Behavioral Sciences – General Psychology.
