1. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
2. Official transcripts and certificate of degree (apostille or consular verification required for international degrees).
3. Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.5 (B average) required for application.
4. TOPIK Level 4 or higher (depending on the department).
5. For natural sciences and engineering departments, students may submit TOEFL iBT 80 / IELTS 5.5 or higher with a letter of recommendation from a professor in lieu of TOPIK, though Korean proficiency is expected for assistantships.
6. PhD applicants require TOPIK 4 or recognized English proficiency scores for thesis defense.
7. Submission of a detailed "Study Plan" and "Preliminary Thesis Proposal."
8. Two letters of recommendation from previous university professors.
9. A written test/interview conducted by the department admissions committee.
10. Passing the university thesis defense and publication of a journal article in certain departments is required for final conferral of the master's degree.
