GISMA was founded in 1999 by the German state of Lower Saxony with corporate support. In 2021, it officially became a University of Applied Sciences, accredited to award its own bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Its Global MBA programme is AMBA-accredited, and several MSc programmes hold FIBAA accreditation.
GISMA operates two German campuses: Potsdam (the original) and Berlin (since 2017), offering modern infrastructure and close ties to Germany’s business hubs.
GISMA is wholly owned by Global University Systems (GUS), a global network with over 30 institutions, many of which share facilities such as the Think Campus in Potsdam with UE and BSBI.
