Ludong University is a public, comprehensive university in Yantai City, Shandong Province, China. Founded in 1958 and upgraded to full university status in 2006, it now hosts roughly 23,000 full‑time students, including around 800 international students. The university spans three connected campuses in urban Yantai—a scenic coastal city along the Bohai and Yellow Seas. It offers disciplines across arts, sciences, engineering, education, and business, and emphasizes international exchange through joint programs with partners in Korea, France, Japan, the US, and more
Ludong offers over 48 undergraduate majors and 13 master’s degree disciplines, covering areas such as pedagogy, computer science, architecture, energy engineering, finance, tourism, design, and international trade. It also provides short‑term language programs, Chinese‑taught and English‑taught degree tracks, as well as exchange, dual‑degree, and Confucius Institute options. For international students, HSK level 4 or above is often required for degree programs taught in Chinese.
At present Ludong enrolls around 27,000 undergraduates and 1,300 postgraduates. Teaching staff number over 1,400 full‑time faculty, working across 22 colleges. The university combines traditional teacher-training roots with expanded offerings in science, engineering, and international collaboration.
