The campus occupies an almost continuous group of around 30 buildings between Kingsway and Aldwych. LSE purchased the former Public Trustee building at 24 Kingsway and engaged Sir Nicholas Grimshaw to redesign it into an ultra-modern educational facility. SAW SWEE HOCK STUDENT CENTRE It is the first new campus building for more than 40 years. The Saw Swee Hock Student Centre, named after the Singaporean statistician and philanthropist, opened in January 2014 following an architectural design competition managed by RIBA Competitions. The building provides accommodation for the LSE Students’ Union, LSE accommodation office and LSE careers service as well as a bar, events space, gymnasium, learning café and media centre. CENTRE BUILDING The Centre Building, situated opposite the British Library of Political and Economic Science, opened in June 2019. It includes publicly accessible roof terrace and a renovated square at the centre of campus. MARSHALL BUILDING The Marshall Building, located at 44 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, opened in January 2022. Designed by Grafton Architects and named after British investor Paul Marshall, the building houses the Departments of Management, Finance and Accounting, spots facilities, and the Marshall Institute for Philanthropy and Social Entrepreneurship.

The security staff is on campus at the main school location, which is located around Houghton Street, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. It does not handle these issues at the residence halls. Crime reporting: Please call the security control room at extension 2000 (020 7955 6200) or stop by the main reception/security desk in the Old Building on Houghton Street if you have any information about a crime on campus. In London, petty thieves are an issue. If you spot anything odd, call 666 (020 7955 6555) to help keep these crooks out of LSE.
You will be based in the heart of London, an interesting, lively, and colourful city, as an LSE student. In addition to providing easy access to everything London has to offer, our small campus is crammed with amenities and services to ensure you get the most out of your stay.The Royal Courts of Justice, Covent Garden, Theatreland, the River Thames, and numerous other London landmarks are all close to LSE's central London campus. The campus has a true sense of community because all of their buildings are situated within a small number of roadways. To help you make the most of your LSE experience, there are also a tonne of support services available.
London School of Economics and Political Science own and operates 10 halls of residence in and around central London and there are also two halls owned by urbanest and five intercollegiate halls within a 3-mile radius of the school, for a total of over 4,000 places. Most residence take both undergraduate and postgraduate, although Carr-Saunders Hall and Passfield Hall are undergraduate only, and butler’s Wharf Residence, Lillian Knowles and Governor House are reserved for postgraduate. There are also flats available on Anson and Carleton roads, which are reserved for students with children. We provide housing to more than 4,000 students annually in private halls, intercollegiate residences at the University of London, and our own halls. In addition, we provide short-term rooms in halls throughout the summer and can assist you in finding a privately rented location in London.
