Everything You Need to Know About Application Requirements at Munich University of Applied Sciences

1. International students applying for a Master’s degree at Munich University of Applied Sciences (HM) generally need a recognized Bachelor’s/Diplom degree in the same or a related field, normally comprising at least six theoretical semesters and 180 ECTS credits.

2. Most programmes require a converted final grade of 2.5 good or better, although individual programmes may set different academic requirements.

3. Applicants may also need relevant practical experience, and some programmes use an aptitude interview or written test as part of the selection process.

4. For applicants with foreign Bachelor’s degrees, a VPD (Vorprüfungsdokumentation) from uni assist is required for many HM Master's programmes, including Business Administration, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Architecture, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Hospitality Management, and several others.

5. HM recommends submitting documents to uni-assist at least eight weeks before the university application deadline.

6. Applicants from India, China, and Vietnam must provide an APS certificate issued by the relevant Academic Evaluation Centre.

7. Applicants with foreign qualifications must normally submit their degree certificate, transcript of records, and certified translations where the documents are not in German or English.

8. A valid passport/identification document and an up to date CV are also generally required.

9. Language requirements depend on the programme. Most Master's programmes at HM are taught in German and generally require German at B2 level, with some programmes requiring C1.

10. For programmes taught entirely in English, applicants generally need English at B2 level or evidence that their previous studies were completed in English.
