Academic Background

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Medicine, Biology, Pharmacy, etc.).

Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 (or 75%+ in percentage systems).

Research experience preferred (especially for thesis-based programs).

B. Language Proficiency

For English-taught programs:

IELTS 6.5+ or TOEFL 85+ (waived if from an English-speaking country).

For Chinese-taught programs:

HSK 5+ (HSK 4 may be accepted for some programs).

C. Additional Requirements

Research Proposal (For thesis-based programs).

Two Academic Recommendation Letters (from professors/supervisors).

CV/Resume (Highlighting research/work experience).

3. Required Documents

Bachelor’s degree certificate & transcripts (notarized & translated).

Passport copy.

Language certificate (IELTS/TOEFL/HSK).

Personal Statement (500–800 words, outlining research interests).

Two recommendation letters.

Research Proposal (if applying for research-based programs).

Physical Examination Record (for visa processing).

Non-criminal Record Certificate.

4. Application Process & Deadlines

Intakes: March (Spring) & September (Fall).

Deadline: Usually January–May (Fall intake) / August–December (Spring intake).

Apply via: SMU’s online application system or through CSC Scholarship portal (if applicable).

Admission Decision: 6–8 weeks after submission.
