While HKU itself doesn’t issue post-study work visas, international graduates can apply for the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG) scheme, which allows them to stay and work in Hong Kong after graduation without needing a job offer (if they apply within 6 months of graduation).
Yes, the IANG scheme is flexible. You are allowed to change employers without needing to reapply for the visa. Additionally, dependents (spouse and children) are allowed to stay in Hong Kong and may work or study without restrictions.
If you apply as a recent graduate (within 6 months of graduation), you may be granted an initial stay of 24 months to live and work in Hong Kong without a job offer. You can later apply for extensions based on employment or other eligibility.
