Any student enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate examined course at Oxford University will automatically become a member of the Student Union (SU). They can also apply for SU appointments, such as OUDCE representatives on its Student Council. Under the University's regulations, students on non-matriculated award-bearing courses are welcome to join any of the more than 400 clubs and societies, which cover a wide range of interests from aeronautics to the OU Wind Orchestra. Students on these courses are generally encouraged to do so and are welcomed when they apply.
