Applicants must hold a recognised Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field, from a university that is recognised and which qualifies for admission to the Master’s in question. 

Subject-specific prior knowledge: Some Master’s programmes specify that the Bachelor’s degree must contain certain credit modules (e.g., for Mechanical Engineering: a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or vehicle construction, or at least equivalent prior study) with a minimum grade threshold. 

Language proficiency:

For English-taught Master’s programmes: Typical minimums such as TOEFL iBT ≥ 88 or IELTS ≥ 6.5 are required. 

For German-taught programmes: German language proficiency may be required (level may vary by programme). 

Additional documents: many programmes require a motivation letter, CV (résumé), transcripts of records (showing achievements), and sometimes letters of recommendation or writing samples.
