1. Academic Eligibility

High School Diploma (or equivalent) recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC).

Transcripts (translated into Portuguese by a sworn translator if not in English/Spanish).

Minimum GPA may apply depending on the program (check specific course requirements).

2. Language Proficiency

Portuguese Proficiency (most programs are taught in Portuguese):

CELPE-Bras (Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners) – Intermediate (Intermediário) level or higher (required by most programs).

Some programs may accept other tests or preparatory courses.

English Proficiency (if applying for an English-taught program, if available): TOEFL (iBT 70+) or IELTS (6.0+).

3. Visa & Legal Documents

Student Visa (VITEM-IV) – Must be obtained from the Brazilian consulate in your home country before arrival.

Valid Passport (with at least 6 months’ validity).

Birth Certificate (translated and notarized).

Criminal Background Check (from home country, apostilled/legalized).

4. ENEM or University Entrance Exam (Vestibular)

Some programs may require:

ENEM (Brazilian National High School Exam) – International students can use ENEM scores if available.

UNIVALI’s Vestibular (entrance exam) – May be required for competitive programs (e.g., Medicine, Law).

6. Application Process

Check the program’s specific requirements on UNIVALI’s international office website.

Submit documents (transcripts, language certificates, passport copy, etc.).

Pay application fee (if applicable).

Wait for acceptance letter to apply for a student visa.
