Southeastern Louisiana University was established in 1925 as Hammond Junior College. It is a public university situated in Hammond, Louisiana. Its name changed to Southeastern Louisiana College in 1928, and it finally gained recognition as Southeastern Louisiana University in 1970.

Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (or its equivalent) before enrollment.
