1. A bachelor's degree with honours and a CGPA of at least 2.75 (or a CGPA that may be considered by the faculty) from Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) or an equivalent degree from any recognised higher education institution.

2. Other qualifications recognised by the Senate, including those obtained through Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL), subject to the fields listed.

3. Fulfilment of any specific entry requirements imposed by the relevant faculty.

4. International candidates must score at least 500 on TOEFL or Band 5.5 on IELTS (valid for 2 years). Exceptions apply for candidates whose field of study or medium of instruction is Malay.

5. Candidates from cognate countries submitting research proposals in English must provide proof of the required IELTS/TOEFL qualification at the time of application.

6. If the thesis is written in English during the course of study, candidates from cognate countries must submit a formal application to the Institute of Graduate Studies through the faculty for Senate approval.
