1. International students seeking postgraduate admission to AIIMS Rishikesh must meet the eligibility requirements of the specific programme.

2. For MD/MS/MDS programmes, admission is generally through the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INICET).

3. Applicants must possess a recognised MBBS degree for MD/MS or a recognised BDS degree for MDS, along with the required 12 month compulsory rotating internship by the prescribed deadline. Foreign medical qualifications must meet the applicable recognition and registration requirements in India.

4. For the 2026 postgraduate cycle, foreign national candidates are considered against the Foreign National/Sponsored category, and they are not eligible for general Indian national seats.

5. Foreign applicants must submit the required application and supporting documents through the Diplomatic Channel, including the necessary No Objection/Clearance from the Government of India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. 

6. For DM/MCh and Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) programmes, applicants need the relevant recognised postgraduate medical qualification, such as MD/MS or an equivalent degree, depending on the speciality.

7. AIIMS Rishikesh states that foreign national PDF applicants must apply through the prescribed diplomatic route, appear in the entrance examination and obtain National Medical Commission (NMC) registration before joining if selected.

8. Foreign nationals are considered against the seats advertised for the relevant category, and no seats are ordinarily reserved for foreign nationals.

9. For other postgraduate programmes such as Medical M.Sc., MPH and PhD, requirements differ by programme and may involve an AIIMS Rishikesh entrance examination, academic assessment and/or departmental assessment.
