The Lovely Professional University of India has partnered with 200+ international universities, including the University of California, the State University of New York, McGill University, Illinois Institute of Technology, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Newcastle University, Brock University, and many more. The university has been focusing on global connectivity and sending its students to study for a semester or two to foreign universities. Students can study in these universities through the credit transfer programme of the Lovely Professional University. This helps them in saving up to 40% of their expenses that one has to pay while studying abroad.

Indian students pursuing their masters in France to get a five year work visa

PM Modi has recently made a big announcement regarding providing five years of work visa to Indian students who are pursuing their masters in France. Earlier Indian students used to only get it on their work visa to post their masters in France but now students can stay in France for five years after completing their masters. This is a part of the multifaceted India France strategic partnership. approximately 6000 Indian students were studying in France in 2021 to 2022. This initiative is likely to increase the number of students going to France from India for higher education.

CUET PG answer key released on the official website

CUET has officially released the answer key for PG exams. Candidates can check the answer key and match their  answers to calculate the score. To download the answer key candidates have to go on the official website of CUET and click on the answer key link. The CUET PG exam was successfully conducted in 295 cities around the country. More than 8,76,000 students appeared for the exam. Candidates can also submit their objection if they find that a particular answer is not right as per the answer key. For that candidates will have to submit Rs.200 per objection question. The results are expected to be declared by the end of July.

UK to raise visa fees and health and sub-charge

UAE makes visa extension for friends and family easier

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security has made visa extension easier for friends and family, visiting someone in the UAE. Visa holders with the visa validity of 30, 60 and 90 days can apply for 30 days visa extension by paying a fee of Dh750. All they have to do is download the UAEICP app through which they can apply for visa extension. It is important for the applicant to be present in the country while making requests for visa extension. Also the person must have a valid passport that is functionable for the coming six months. you need the previous Visa approval documents and a passport size photo for the process. The best part is that this can be done while sitting at home and you do not have to go anywhere.

Government of Nepal increases taxes for students to study abroad

The Nepali government has increased the taxes on the amount of money that students will send to international sources, whether universities or places of accommodation to stop the brain drain in the country. Like other countries of the world, Nepal is also experiencing severe brain drain where every other student wants to go to an international university to study further. Keeping the current scenario in mind, the government of Nepal has decided to increase tax rates on foreign transfers. This means that the amount of tax charged on the money sent by parents to their children studying abroad will also be increased. 3% tax will be charged on every transfer. earlier the tax rate used to be between 1% to 2%.

The United States of America adds new degrees under the STEM OPT list

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has amended the DHS STEM by adding eight new degree programmes to the list. This list is used to determine the eligibility of a particular student for an F1 visa to the US. The F1 visa is given to only selected students whose degree programmes fall under the DHS list. Students who have this visa can apply for a 24 months extension after completing their studies in the US. University of Strathclyde begins application for business scholarships

University of Strathclyde has officially begun its application process for a business scholarship, offered to students pursuing their master's degree from the university. US embassy will be temporarily closing the visa application process in India

The US Embassy in India recently announced that they will be temporarily closed in the Visa application process in India from 12th July to 14th July. This has been announced through their official Twitter handle. As per the news, the closure is because of some platform related issue. The embassy is supposedly moving to a new platform, which is why the services will be stopped for a brief period of time. The services will resume from July 15, 2023. The US embassy has made significant changes to help Indian students move to the US. The time for application has been reduced by 50% and now students do not have to worry about applying for a visa 7 to 8 months before their college begins.

More than one lakh visa requests from Indian students were rejected by Europe last year

The rejection rate for Indian students from European countries stood at 18% last year. More than 1,21,000 students were rejected from various European countries in 2022.
