University of Arizona invites students for undergraduate programmes

The university of Arizona is inviting students for its fall under graduate program for 2024. The classes for the fall 2024 intake will begin from August 2024. Students can start submitting their applications. There are several undergraduate programs that are offered by the University of Arizona. This includes Aerospace Engineering, Environmental Science, Entrepreneurship, Applied Computing, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Biomedical Science, among others.

For students who have just passed out of high school, it is important for them to have at least a 50% score in their final years. The university of Arizona is very considerate at giving grants. In 2022, alone, around 86% of the students studying at the University of Arizona received some kind of grant.

Several new F1 visa slots have been opened for Indian immigrants. Interested to migrate to the US on an F1 visa. This is a golden opportunity for students who have been getting rejected for the past few times. In 2022, the US Department offered around four lakh student visas to Indian students. This was a 15% fiscal increase from the previous year. On the other hand, Canada issued around 4,27,000 student visas to Indian students. This was a 27% increase from the previous year.

The University grants commission has decided to set a special panel for SC and ST students. The panel will look after the safeguarding of the students in universities and to prevent any kind of discrimination. This landmark decision has been taken after the Supreme Court called out the killings of marginalised communities as insensitive. This panel will also look out after the implementation of policies meant for SC, ST and OBC students.

UGC releases list of fake universities in India

The University Grants Commission has released a latest list of fake universities in India. These universities are not authorised from UGC and hence the degree from these universities is not recognised in India. Here is the list of these universities for your reference.

  1. From Delhi, there are eight universities, including All India Institute of Public and Physical Health Sciences; Commercial University Ltd, Daryaganj; United Nations University; Vocational University; ADR-Centric Juridical University; Indian Institution of Science and Engineering; Viswakarma Open University for Self-Employment; and Adhyatmik Vishwavidyalaya (Spiritual University).

  2. From Uttar Pradesh, there are four universities, including Gandhi Hindi Vidyapith; National University of Electro Complex Homeopathy; Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose University (Open university); and Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad.

  3. Other than this, there are several universities from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and West Bengal.

Reports show that over 1 million students from India went to study abroad in 2022

IIT Guwahati has made one on one counselling compulsory for fresh BTech students. Now, all the fresh BTech students who will take admission in IIT Gauhati will have to enrol in one-on-one counselling with professional counsellors that will be available on the campus.

West Bengal adopts the four year undergraduate policy under the NEP

The government of West Bengal has decided to adopt the four year undergraduate policy under the new education policy. Now students will have to spend at least four years to complete their undergraduate degree in any field. After giving four years to their degree, they will be able to graduate with an honours degree.
