University of Perugia History

The University of Perugia is a public university located in Perugia, Italy.  It was established in the year 1308, by the Bull “Super specula” of Clement V. The University is one of the oldest university in Italy.

The University of Perugia offers a vast selection of first and second level and single cycle degree programs. The University offers bachelor’s programs, master’s programs and Ph.D. programs for the students. The University also offers courses in English for international students. The University includes courses in Perugia and Tami and specialized programs in Umbria region. The University has 11 faculties in a different department. The University has more than 1,088 academic staff, 1,200 administrative staff including 12,868 undergraduate students, 8,670 postgraduate students, and 470 doctorate students.

The University of Perugia, the campus is structured in both ways which is in urban and in rural design. The campus is based in Perugia. The University has multiple facilities for the students on campus. The University has a library which is the part of Humanities and Educational Sciences Structure. The library is specialized in studies on classical antiquity like ancient history, classical Greek and Latin philology and classical archeology.

The University of Perugia, The European Commission currently awarded the University of Perugia as the prestigious European Credit Transfer System label for their excellence in all of its degree programs such as in first and second cycle and even single cycle and in the high quality of international endeavors.

Currently, the University has 50 research groups that received an award from the European Research network.

The University of Perugia ranked in Shanghai ranking in Italy 13th and in the World University Ranking 401 in the year 2014. It also ranked in Leiden ranking as 4th and in the Taiwan ranking as 13th in the year 2014. The University also ranked in Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities in Italy as 22nd in the year 2014.
