Autonomous University of Mexico State History

The Autonomous University of Mexico State is a public university located in Mexico. It is one of the largest university in Mexico. The University was established in the year 1828 as an Institution of Mexico State Literary and in 1956 it was renamed as Autonomous University of Mexico State.

The Autonomous University of Mexico State offers 22 undergraduate programs, 14 master’s programs, 4 doctorate programs, and one technical program and one distance learning program. The University has 12 schools, two national schools and one extension center in the university itself. The University has more than 84,654 students including undergraduate students and postgraduate students.

The Autonomous University of Mexico State, the campus is settled in a central campus which is located in the state capital of Toluca. Its 730 hectares house has 13 schools and one national school, 26 institutes, seven centers, and eight research programs, the Central Administration offices, the Cultural Center, sports facilities, the National Library and the Newspaper Archive as well as colleges, schools, institutes, and research centers. Its wide territorial extension includes a vast zone of an ecological reserve.

The research article has leadership knowledge, both in national scientific environment and at an international level. 22 percent of the academics who make up the National System of Researchers and 45 percent among those with the highest academic rank in the country belong to UNAM.
