Sunway University History

Sunway University is a Malaysian higher education establishment located in Subang Jaya, Selangor. The university was established as Sunway university College in 2004 and was conferred university status in 2011 by the Malaysian Government. The university currently enrols over 5200 students.

Sunway University comprises of 7 schools including the School of Business, Science and Technology, Arts, Mathematical Sciences, Hospitality, Healthcare and Medical Sciences, and Interdisciplinary Studies offering a range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees and diplomas.

Sunway University offers programs in Marketing, Business Management, Finance, Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Health Sciences, Mathematics, Languages and Literature, Physics, Chemistry, International Business, and Computer Science to name a few.

Sunway University Campuses

Sunway University has an urban campus spread over an area of 10 hectares in Bandar Sunway in the city of Subang Jaya, Selangor. The campus is located adjacent to Sunway Lagoon Amusement Park and comprises of modern buildings and infrastructure which offer world class facilities to students.

Sunway University offers a range of facilities to students including modern teaching facilities, laboratories, health center, recreational center, kitchen facilities, dining areas, and student halls of residence. The campus also offers well-stocked libraries, restaurants and cafes, banks and ATMs, shops and bookstore, and sports facilities.

Sunway University is ranked 33rd in Malaysia by UniRank and is accredited by Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia. The university is also ranked 172nd in the Asian University rankings published by QS Top Universities.

Sunway University is ranked amongst top 750 institutions in the world by QS World University Rankings. The university’s research output was also rated high and ranked amongst top 500 universities in the world to study Business Management by QS.

Sunway University partners with a number of prestigious institutions such as Monash University, Le Cordon Bleu, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, Lancaster University, and Harvard Medical School to facilitate international exchange and joint programs.

Sunway University also offers a number of scholarships aimed at assisting meritorious students with tuition fee and living costs. The university also received 5 star rating by QS in addition to delivering Southeast Asia Healthcare Leadership Programme with Harvard Medical School at its campus.
