The University of Florence is an Italian public university situated in Florence, Italy. The first university in Florence was the Studium Generale, which was founded by the Florentine Republic in 1321. The Studium was identified by Pope Clement VI in 1349 and authorized to grant regular degrees. The Pope also founded the first Italian faculty of theology which would be in Florence.

University of Florence Faculties is located in different areas based on their subject matter. The Faculty of Economics, Law and Political Sciences are situated in the Polo Delle Scienze Social which is in the Novoli district, near the new courthouse. The Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacology, scientific and engineering departments are situated in the Careggi district, which is close to the hospital. The Faculty of Engineering is located at the S. Marta Institute, and the Faculty of Agriculture is in front of the Parco Delle Cascine. The Faculty of Math’s, Physics and Natural Sciences is situated in Sesto Fiorentino. The Faculty of Architecture is in the center of the city, Known as the Accademia di Belle Arti, home of Michelangelo's David. The Faculties of Literature, History, Philosophy, and Pedagogy are situated in the center of Florence.

The University of Florence awards a certain number of Grants to students Funds will be up to 750 € for travel expenses and up to 500 € per month for accommodation and living expenses. Students can accrue credits during the period of study abroad, which will be proportional to the actual work carried out. Students who are eligible for the scholarship should be enrolled at the Architecture Postgraduate Degree Course at the University of Florence. Candidates should have a good level of English, certified by a non-University institution. Students should show good Academic performance in the field of Architecture related Technologies.
