The University of Indonesia is a significantly popular university in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is the oldest tertiary-level educational institution in Indonesia and is generally considered as the most prestigious university in the country. In the 2019 QS World Universities Ranking, the University of Indonesia was ranked first in Indonesia and fifty-seventh in Asia.

The Salemba campus, located in Central Jakarta, is focused mostly on the faculties of Medicine and Dentistry. It is nearby with Cipto Mangunkusumo National Hospital as well as the University Dental Hospital. It houses parts of the postgraduate program, the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Engineering.
