University of Lille History

University of Lille also known as Université de Lille, ULille, and UDL is a French higher education establishment located in the city of Lille. The university was established in 2018 after the merger of Charles De Gaulle University - Lille III, Lille 1 University of Science and Technology, and Lille 2 University of Health and Law. The university is one of the largest universities in the country enrolling over 74000 students.

University of Lille comprises of six faculties which are further subdivided into over 24 academic departments. The faculties include Faculty of Arts, Literature, and Languages, Law, Economics, and Management, Health, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sports, and Science and Technology.

University of Lille is based on 5 campuses based in Metropole Europeenne de Lille, France in the cities of Lille, Hauts-de-France, Roubaix, Tourcoing, and Villeneuve d’ascq. The university campuses are largely urban and comprise of a number of buildings housing the academic departments, student centric facilities, modern teaching spaces, faculty offices, and student halls of residence and dormitories.
