University of Lisbon History
The University of Lisbon was founded in 2013 as a result of a merging of two public Universities. It is one of the oldest and largest Universities of Lisbon. The University’s origin dates to the 13th century when the fixed incomes from the Church and active participation of the Portuguese King and its crown.

The University offers Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate courses across 18 faculties. The focus remains to offer programs in various fields so that the students benefit from every field of knowledge.

The University has created a partnership platform that enables innovation from within and across border to be discussed as a motive of knowledge transfer. This platform of Knowledge and Innovation Communities was discovered by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology. The University is partnered with 2 such communities.
