University of San Carlos History

University of San Carlos is one of the oldest and prestigious private catholic university located in the small city of Cebu, Philippines. The University was established in the year 1595 by the Jesus missionary’s in order to impart basic education to the people of Philippines. Later, from the year 1935, the Society of the Divine started administering it. Primarily the University was known as Colegio de San and got renamed as University of San Carlos in the year 1948.The University is known for its Programs in Medicine and Rehabilitation Sciences.

University of San Carlos Programs, Courses and Schools

University of San Carlos comprises of four major Schools and six Faculties. The University offers Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees in the disciplines of Law, Foreign Languages, Letter, Communication, Economics, Social Sciences, Literature, Sciences and many others to choose from. The University maintains a Student faculty ratio is 20:1.
The University has international affiliations with many countries. The University has several academic affiliation with PCNC, UK-Phils, British Council, ACUP, PDIS, PAASCU, ISA, IAU, IFCU, CHEDD PHERNET Zonal Research Centres

University of San Carlos owes five beautiful campuses all across the city namely Talamban Campus, Downtown Campus, North Campus, South Campus and the Montessori Academy Campus All these campuses represents state of art infrastructure. The campuses of the University are equipped with Performing arts theatres, laboratory, a Gymnasium, Cafe shops, Sports room, Dormitory, Audio Visual room, International Student Club where cultural activities take place.
The library of the University is very big and computerized and well furnished with latest version of books, literature related to Medicine, documents, journals and manuscripts.
