IE University History

IE University was originally known as Instituto de Empresa. Founded in Madrid, Spain as a graduate professional school in Business and Law in 1973. IE University opened to Undergraduates in 2006. In 2008 the name was changed from Universidad S.E.K. to IE Universidad in Spanish, and the commercial name IE University in English. IE university officially began operations in September 2009. Current enrollment stands at 7000 students.
