Jazan University History

Jazan University is a public research university based in Jazan City. Founded in 2006, it is the only university in the province and one of the largest public, non - profit higher education institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The emergence of JU was a significant further step in providing unique educational opportunities with a modern touch to local communities in Jazan Province and up - to - date programs using state - of - the - art educational technologies. Jazan University has a major central Red Sea campus on Saudi Arabia's southwestern coast and satellite campuses in Sabya, Abu Arish, Farasan, Ad - darb, Samtah, Al - Daer and Al - Ardah.

Jazan University Achievements

JU was awarded four prizes at the GCC Universities ' Scientific and Cultural Week at Imam Mohammed Bin Saud Islamic University. At the 4th Scientific Conference for Higher Education Students in Makkah, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, JU won a dozen awards in competitions.

College of Medicine at JU obtained the ISO 9001-2008 certification in 2009. The University obtained UNESCO trust and World Universities Union membership as the first newly established University in the Kingdom and the fifth University in the Kingdom to achieve this along with its accession to the Union of Arab Universities. The American Council of Education (2015) granted accreditation to the Community College at JU. For information security, the Information Technology Department granted ISO world certification, ISO 2700.
