Tunghai University History

Tunghai University also known as THU is a Taiwanese higher education institution located in Taichung City. The university was established in 1955 by the Methodist Missionaries as a comprehensive university and currently enrols over 16000 full time students.

Tunghai University comprises of total 9 colleges which are further sub-divided into 34 academic departments offering a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs. The university also houses a Chinese Language Center, a first of its kind language center in the country.

Tunghai University offers a range of programs in subjects such as Agriculture and Agricultural Sciences, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Fine Arts and Design, Creative Arts, International Relations, Business and Management, Social Sciences, Law, and Science and Technology.

Tunghai University has a suburban campus spread over an area of 1.35 kilometre square in Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan. The university campus offers a wide range of services to students including the central library comprising of 600000 volumes and 21523 electronic resources to name a few.

Tunghai University also offers facilities such as a chapel, climbing wall, sports courts and grounds, gardens, and dining options on campus. The university campus also comprises of purpose built building housing the teaching facilities and laboratories in addition to halls of residence.
