Isfahan University of Technology History

The Isfahan University of Technology also known as IUT is a university located in Isfahan, Iran. The university was established in 1974 as the Aryamehr University of Technology in Isfahan and subsequently granted university status post-Islamic Revolution of Iran in 1979. The university has ever since grown to enroll over 10,000 students and is regarded as one of the most prestigious institutions in the country.

The Isfahan University of Technology offers a wide range of programs in subjects like Electrical and Computer Engineering, English Language, Industrial Engineering, Agriculture, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Natural Resources, Physical Education, Physics, and Textile Engineering.

The Isfahan University of Technology also comprises of a number of research centres which cater to the academic community. Some of them are Center for Advanced Computing Services, Center for Research in Applied Statistics and Stochastic Systems, Information & Communication Technology Institute, and Network Security Center.

Isfahan University of Technology campus is located in Isfahan which is 19 kilometers from Shahin Shahr in Iran. The university campus is spread over an area of 500 acres and comprises of shopping centres, dormitories, sports and recreation centre, and health centres. The campus is modeled after Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

The Isfahan University of Technology also offers a host of other services to its students such as technologically advanced lecture halls and classrooms, libraries, study spaces, and laboratories in addition to leisure and recreational facilities.

The Isfahan University of Technology is ranked 4th in Iran by the Islamic World Science Citation Center’s Iranian University rankings. Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings ranks the university 2nd in the country and amongst top 400 universities in the world.

The Isfahan University of Technology is also ranked 3rd in Iran and 547th worldwide by the prestigious US News and World Report. The university is also highly ranked in Iran for its research output and science and engineering degrees.

Isfahan University of Technology USP

The Isfahan University of Technology is one of the few universities to house a supercomputer on the university campus which is counted amongst the fastest 500 in the world. The machine is able to perform over 32 billion calculations and operations in a matter of 100 seconds.

The Isfahan University of Technology has a low acceptance rate owing to its reputation in the country. Admissions are competitive and often based on previous academic record and grades. The university also offers a few financial aids to help the students with tuition fee.
