Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute known as The National Technical University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute was founded in 1885 and is one of the largest and oldest technical universities in Ukraine. It is located in the city of Kharkiv.

The University provides a varied range of courses through over 15 departments. The departments at the University are namely Department of computer science and management, computer and information technologies, mechanical engineering, power-plant engineering, transport engineering, economics, business and finance, physics and technology, electric power, electric power engineering, instrument-making, inorganic-substance technology, organic-substance technology, chemical machine engineering, economics and law, business management and military education.

The University comprises of two campuses in the University with over 20 buildings. The main campus consists of all the administrative buildings, facilities, laboratories, and classroom buildings. The student campus consists of the dormitory and the Student Palace. The University boasts of its splendid architecture that adds to the beauty of the campus thus providing a positive environment.
