National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology was established in the year 1995. It is a public university which is situated in Kaohsiung in Taiwan. It was founded as National Institute of Technology at Kaohsiung but was renamed to National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology in 1998. Currently it is known as National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology.

National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology is organised into five colleges which are further divided into 15 departments and 27 institutes. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs. Other courses offered include research, foreign language courses, student exchange program and virtual learning courses.
It is the home to more than 7000 students and more than 250 faculties who are trained to guide students in academics and life goals. Vocational studies are also offered. It is the first technical university of the area. More of a practical and professional training is offered to the students.

National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology is spread across 75 acres area with modern infrastructure and has two campuses. Student services include cafes, cafeteria, healthcare services, sports facility, indoor courts and stadium, gym, student counselling services and internet access. Student clubs and organisations organises various events and activities throughout the year. Journals and newsletters are published by the university.
University library is stocked with journals, books, magazines, research guides, government documents, repositories, archives and periodicals. Computer systems, databases, renewal services, training rooms, labs, e-resources, help desk, internet access and audio-visuals are available.
