North West University History

North West University, is a South African university located in South Africa. It is one of the largest universities in South Africa. It was established in the year 2004, as a part of the South African government’s plan to transform higher education.

North West University Programs, Courses, and Schools

North West University, offers undergraduate programs, postgraduate programs, and doctorate programs. The University also provides distance learning, short courses for the students. The University has 8 faculties in a different department. The University has 56,576 undergraduate students and 16,167 postgraduate students.

North West University Campuses

North West University, has two campuses. The one campus is North-West University Vaal Triangle Campus which more on focuses on Faculty of Economic Sciences and Information Technology and the Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Theology. In this campus extended programs are also offered like Bcom and BSc and many more programs are included. The campus also has its own Cricket Academy and Cycling Academy and even row club registered in Rowing South Africa and even sports facilities are provided.

The second campus is North-West University Mahikeng Campus. The University has law, agriculture, science and technology, human and social media, education and commerce faculties. It has a soccer academy.

North West University Achievements

North West University, Prof Llewellyn van Zyl, researcher, and industrial psychologist was awarded for “Young Alumnus Award”. Ms. Karen Meiring, director of Afrikaans channels at M-Net and KykNet was honored for “Business Leadership Award”. Caster Semenya and SunetteVijoen who did podium in Olympic Games were awarded NWU Ambassador Award. Willem Coertzen, Elroy Gelant, Terseus Liebenberg and Jean Verster received ambassador certificates for excelling in their sport disciplines.

North West University, ranked 46 for the Best Colleges by Regional Universities in 2019. The University ranked 964 by Center World University Ranking in 2019 and 796 for Academic performance by University Ranking by Academic Performance in 2019. The University has always been emphasis to its motto of “It All Starts Here”.
