Sudan University of Science & Technology History

Science and Technology University of Sudan is Sudan's largest public university. Sudan University of Science and Technology's history dates back to 1950 when the Khartoum Technical Institute (KTI) was founded to graduate qualified technicians in the fields of buildings and commercial studies. In 1975, all of Sudan's technical institutes were merged with KTI to form what was called Khartoum Polytechnique (KP). The KP was upgraded to a university called the Sudan University of Science and Technology in 1990, with all the institutes being transformed into collages. The University's growth was very fast during its establishment's second decade.

Main Campus: located in the Mogren area, includes University administration, Academic Affairs Secretariat, Scientific Research Council, College of Business Studies, Graduate Studies, Fine and Applied Art, Science, Computer Science and Information Technology, Technology, Languages and Education, Laser Institute, Institutes of Community and Family Development, Islamic Research and Science, Distance Education Center, Computer Center, Documentation and Information Center, Personnel Office, Financial Administration, Legal Affairs and Medical Unit. Southern Campus: College of Engineering, Physical Education and Sports, Management of Petroleum Engineering and Technology. The campus of Music and Drama: Music and Drama College, Studios, Theater, Communication Science College and Center for Studies of Peace Culture. Kuku Campus: Veterinary Medicine and Radiological Animal Production College. Science Campus: Medical Radiological Science College and Clinic for Ultrasound. Shambat Campus: Agricultural Studies College, Research Center and Soil Lab. Northern Campus: Departments for textiles, plastics and leather and leather incubators. Campus Wad al Maqbul: Water and Environmental Engineering College and Center for Meteorology. Campus forestry: Forestry and Range Science College.
