Tokyo University of Foreign Studies History

Tokyo University of Foreign Studies also known as TUFS is a Japanese research university located in Fuchu, Tokyo. The university was established in 1857 as Institute for Research of Foreign Documents subsequently renamed to Tokyo School of Foreign Languages in 1899. The university adopted its present name in 1949 and currently enrolls approximately 4000 students.

The International Student Promotion Expenses are offered by the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies to 14 international students from partner exchange schools to study at the university.
